Product detailed description

Heavy Weight slant board

(squat wedges, squat platform, squat surface)

The Heavy Weight slant board is a versatile tool for:

  • training,
  • stretching,
  • other exercises.

In training, squat wedges are mainly used for squats, lunges, box step-ups and similar exercises. For stretching, use them just before training to get the body up to working temperature and stretch all the tendons, attachments and muscles properly. Other exercises means yoga and similar activities. In all these activities, the incline reduces the strain on the ankles, knees and back while also promoting correct posture.

The design of the slant board lets you adjust the incline. The package contains 3 wedges: two with an incline of 8.5 degrees and one with 17 degrees. This means you can use an 8.5-degree incline for each foot at once, or join them to create a 17-degree incline and pair it with the third, 17-degree wedge. So you have 2 different inclines for each foot, and you're not limited by the length of the sloped surface, because you can position the wedges at whatever distance apart suits you best.

Another advantage typical of our squat wedges is that they are sturdy yet light — they won't cave in even under heavier weights, and you can take them along to every training session, whether outdoors or in the gym. The anti-slip surface stops these slant boards moving during training.

If you want to spice up your squats or any other slant-board training, you can choose from classic weights such as sandbags and kettlebags or try a weighted vest.

Also NEW in our range: Heavy Weight weighted shorts.

Alternatively, opt for resistance-based loading and choose from several resistance levels of Heavy Weight resistance bands:

Can squat wedges be harmful — should I avoid them?

That's just a myth spread by people focused purely on mobility. NO! Adding wedges and boards to your training is an unquestionable benefit. The real drawback lies in placing objects under the heels, because the weight isn't distributed across the whole foot as it should be — but that's not the same thing. People often confuse the two, and certain misinformation arises as a result. Squat wedges actually reduce the pressure on the joints when a squat is performed incorrectly. Most athletes squat incorrectly and can injure themselves as a result. Wedges/slant boards help you perform the squat correctly, with the heel in contact with the floor. Thanks to the sloped surface, the force during the squat is transferred into the heel, from where you can drive the squat up properly. It's certainly great to work on the overall mobility of the body, not just squat mobility. You should always work with the body as a whole rather than focusing on one single thing. Everything is like a jigsaw puzzle and it all fits together perfectly. So if you hear there's only one single right way, it's worth thinking twice, because there are always several paths.
